bad archieve files for pear package

Description
I downloaded following pear package: phing-2.4.2.tgz I'm simply entering into this archieve file using total commander and it looks like wrong name was given to file withing. Here is hierachical view of archieves when I enter it:
"phing-2.4.2.tgz" -> "phing-2.4.2.tar" -> "phing-2.4.2" (where ".2" is extension of archieve) Is it normal or you missed something?

I guess it is more problem of total commander than archive itself. I am able to extract the archive, both on Mac and Linux (Ubuntu). I am able to view the contents of archive using Vim.
Closing this report, please, re-open should you have real problems with using archive (not extracting, extracting wrongly etc). Or elaborate on issue above, as from description it seems that reporter not sure whether what he gets is a problem.
